Ever heard of Moon Brigade ? ? Probably not. Well, Moon Brigade is the name of the new band of the other ingenious half of k’s Choice, Gert !
Don’t tell us you had forgotten about him. Remember the (temporary) break announced by the band would lead to 2 (!) new careers. Yes indeed.

Sarah’s pretty quick rising was rather obvious, but Gert hasn’t been sitting still either.

While producing the latest Venus in Flames record, touring with this same band, collaborating on a couple of side projects and his job as a workshop instructor at the Herman Teirlinck Academy in Antwerp, in all discretion, he kept on developing his own musical ideas and found the time to write a dozen of new songs that are ready to be revealed to the world.

So what can you expect ? Is there a record ? How does it sound ? Are there any concerts planned ?

One thing is certain. Gert’s album is completely finished… mixed and mastered. Actually it’s ready for release, but negotiations about a record deal haven’t been tied up yet so it’s still uncertain whether the album will be released before or after the summer.

Of course you might wonder how this album sounds. Hard to explain, but it sounds brilliant ! Ok, that doesn’t help. What about : it’s a mixture of heavy and melodic pop-rock, spiced with intimate guitar riffs and cherry pie piano parts, or... do you prefer influences... like The Beatles, The Waterboys, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Elliott Smith, Crowded House, The Smiths ... So, does that give you a better idea ? No ?? In that case, read the following.

Next Thursday, March 31st, Moon Brigade are giving their very first try-out concert in Kapellen, Gert’s home town. For the first time Gert will play his new songs before a live audience, accompanied by his brand-new band... and what a band ! Hold on : Koen Lieckens on drums (sounds familiar, no), Axl Peleman on bass (not exactly a rookie either), Bert Gielen on keyboards (Axelle Red’s keyboard magician) and Tom Lodewyckx on guitar (definitely the most promising guitar player in Belgium).

The concert will take place in a very small hall and most people invited are Gert’s personal friends, a handful of business people and ... you ! As loyal k’s Choice fans, Gert insisted on giving you the first chance to see Moon Brigade live. But, don’t hesitate too long, the number of tickets are extremely limited (a couple of dozen).

The only thing you have to do is to call the phone number below and reserve your tickets (8 euro per ticket - you pay your ticket at the entrance). More details (address, itinerary) are stated below.

Driving tip : when you're in the center of Kapellen, take the "Dorpstraat", which changes into « Kapelsestraat ». After a couple of km the church will be on your right-hand side across the street from "Houthandel Thijs".
