GERT BETTENS BACK IN BUSINESS WITH... WOODFACE

Don’t tell us you had forgotten about Gert !! Remember the (temporary) break announced by k’s Choice would lead to 2 (!) new careers. Yes indeed, that’s what this newsletter is all about.

After having flirted with the name “Moon Brigade”, the experimental band name for his solo project, Gert has now cut the knot and will start his solo career as “Woodface”.

No doubt about it… Gert and his new band are standing on the verge of what is very likely to become an extraordinary adventure. Everything will start with the release of the very first single “Something to Break” in the second half of August, followed by the album release early October and Gert’s very first official concert on the 19th of October in Brussels. Indeed, the other ingenious half of k’s Choice is back !

Of course you might wonder how this new band will sound. Hard to explain, but they sound absolutely brilliant and … pretty different from k’s Choice actually ! Ok, that doesn’t help. What about : it’s a mixture of heavy and melodic pop-rock, spiced with intimate guitar riffs and cherry pie piano parts, or... do you prefer influences... like The Beatles, The Waterboys, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Elliott Smith, Crowded House, The Smiths ... So, does that give you a better idea ? No ?? In that case, you have no choice… come to the very first Woodface concert in Brussels.

The concert will take place on October 19th in the Ancienne Belgique and as loyal k’s Choice fans, Gert insisted on inviting you for this very first official concert. And what’s more… as faithful fans you will get the chance to order your tickets at a special price. It must have been ages since you assisted to a quality concert in the AB for only… 10 euro! But, don’t hesitate too long, the number of tickets is limited.


How to order tickets?

The only thing you have to do is to go to the following web page, fill out the form and hit the “submit” button. Once you’ve sent this form, you will receive one or more special code(s), depending on the number of tickets you requested. You will get one code per ticket. You will need this code to order your ticket(s) at special price on the official Ancienne Belgique website.

Attention: You can order as many tickets as you wish, but if you ordered several tickets (and will have received the corresponding number of special codes) you will have to order your tickets one by one if you want to benefit this special price of 10 euro (official ticket price will be 16 euro, so it’s definitely worth the effort). Beware, once you get your code, don’t wait too long to order your tickets on the AB website as your code will be valid for 48 hours.

One last detail: The number of codes at our disposal is limited (250) and every unused code is an opportunity less for someone else to order a ticket! Please use your code to buy a ticket from the AB website and don’t request a code just for the sake of it. Thanks for your cooperation.

Please don't kill me,
but after having talked to PIAS ( the new label ), we decided it was best to postpone the release of the first single " something to break".
Nothing to worry about, though ; It should be on radio by the end of next week.
( hopefully more than once ).
It's not a commercial single-release, either, I'm sorry.
But hey, it's still all good :
The video is almost finished, the artwork for the full album, too, and it looks like the release of it will definately NOT be postponed.

Das ist cool. Erinnert mich vom Stil her an "We didn't start the fire"...

ehrlich gesagt (auch wenn mich jetz vielleicht ein paar lünchen ;o) ist es diese art von (komplexeren) liedern die sarah's album fehlen und was auch meine freude beim scream-album-hören in grenzen hällt.
