The summer is approaching and a whole bunch of details about Sarahs new album will be coming your way very soon. As you all know, Sarahs new album Shine (working title) has been finalized while negotiations for her new label are under way. As we speak, these jigsaw pieces are falling into place and behind the scenes everybody is working hard to prepare the next release campaign. As we just said, much more details will follow very soon.

For the time being, maybe we can offer you the opportunity to ask Sarah herself more details about her new album. As a matter of fact, she will be interviewed this Saturday evening, April 14th, on Blacklight Radio West by Kris K.. BlackLight Radio is an internet-only, 24/7 radio station streaming live from Owasso, Oklahoma, USA.

A little story and a little tip we would like to share with you...

A couple of months ago, one of our Belgian street team members started to make a list of festivals where Sarah could play this summer. Not the local my-favorite-bar-has-a-pretty-big-garden type of festival, but rather midsize and big festivals in Belgium. In this list he included the e-mail addresses of all the festivals (usually easy to find on their respective websites) and started to spread this list within his team, amongst his friends and on the forum of Sarahs website.

Coincidence or not ... a few days ago Sarahs booking agent confirmed one of the festivals which was on that list, i.e. Suikerrock in Tienen, one of the bigger festivals in our country. Nobody will probably ever know if this initiative really made the difference, but we tend to believe that these kind of actions are always useful and who knows, they might make the difference.

So, dear friends, why not make a list of the festivals in your country where you think Sarah could make a chance to play in the summer period. Once you have that list, just spread it all around and encourage your team mates to start mailing. Of course you can post it on the Street Team forum, the forum on Sarahs site, etc. You can also send your list to us, so we can spread it to teams in other regions, etc.

PS. One last small piece of advice : try to spread your mails to the festivals... an orchestrated action is not always well-received...

ich versteh den Sinn nicht ganz. Warum der Weg über die Streetteamer? Sarahs Management muss die Festivals doch eh anschreiben und die kennen doch auch alle die es im Land so gibt.. Wozu diese Liste?
total unsinnig oder klärt mich jemand auf?

also ich seh das doch richtig oder: Es geht um bloße arbeitserleichterung, nen wirklichen NUTZEN (so wie in der mail ja ein wenig scheinheilig behauptet wird) hat das nicht, wenn streetteamer sich um mögliche festivals bemühen oder???

also mal ehrlich: es war einmal....vor nicht all zu langer zeit... da sah das management es nicht gerne wenn streetteams solche aktionen starten. (wenn ich mich recht erinnere)

deshalb sag ich hier mal ganz freischnauze: die können mich ma!

Just released, is a new compliation album entitled "2007" of Dutch band The Scene, including a re-recording of their massive 1990 hit "Blauw" in duet with Sarah! Definitely worth checking out. For more details : http://www.behindthescene.nl

International alt rock star Sarah Bettens is currently putting the finishing touches on her second solo album, which is being produced by Brad Wood (Liz Phair, Sunnyday Real Estate, Placebo, Smashing Pumpkins, Ben Lee). This highly anticipated new release is the follow up to her hugely successful debut solo effort Scream. Scream earned her the 2006 European Border Breakers Award for Best New Artist.

Scream’s sultry single “Come Over Here” is slated to be on the compilation CD Revolutions being released May 22, 2007, by Music With a Twist/Columbia Records. Popular Dutch remixers, Kraak & Smaak, have completed a remix of the song, which is hitting radio in the U.K. June 19, 2007. The song was also a Top 5 alternative hit on Studio Brussels. The videos for the album’s first three singles—“Not Insane”, “Stay” and “Come Over Here”—gained air time on MTV throughout Europe. The “Stay” and “Come Over Here” videos are still being played on MTV/Logo in the U.S. Currently, Sarah is completing a new video for “Daddy’s Gun”, the first single from her new album which will be released on Universal Records later this summer! 2007 is shaping up to be a heavy festival year for Sarah, who is scheduled to perform at Live Earth in London or New York City on July 7th, along with numerous Festivals throughout Europe, plus the Michigan Womyn’s Festival, August 8-10. 2006 proved to be a very successful touring year. For her sold-out theatre tour in December 2006, she performed at 17 European theatres in 20 days. In Spring 2006, she performed at the Go Girls Music Festival at SXSW, and in Fall 2006, she toured with Kaki King and Christine Baze on the 2006 Yellow Umbrella Tour of North America---promoting cervical cancer awareness.

Sarah is no newcomer to the rock world. She first earned notoriety as the lead singer of K’s Choice, which has earned Gold and Platinum records in continental Europe and whose international radio hits include “Not An Addict,” “Believe” and “Almost Happy”. With K’s Choice, Sarah has headlined European festivals, toured throughout the U.S. and been featured in Hits, Rolling Stone, Vogue, Chicago Sun-Times and Billboard.
